From the French Directoire period, this 19th-century armchair balances clean neoclassical lines with a rustic, time-softened finish. A squared frame, tapered legs, a delicately carved crest rail and gently curved arms give it quiet refinement. Its original paint has weathered beautifully, and it's upholstered in a warm, velvety textile.
