Crafted in France in the early 1700s, this Régence armchair has a beechwood frame still wearing traces of its original paint, with cabriole legs ending in delicate scrolls and arms that sweep gently outward. A finely caned back keeps it light, and the seat has a simple cushion. It's a study in balance between ornament and restraint.
